Council Tenants - Exercise Your Right to Buy
Buying your Council owned home via the Right to Buy Mortgage scheme just got a whole lot simpler with our 3 - Step Plan:
Right to Buy Step 1
Phone us free on 0800 0683 651 or contact us via the website.
Right to Buy Step 2
Sign and return our terms of service that permits us to act on your behalf. We charge a fixed price that can be added to the mortgage amount, along with all solicitors fees, so there's nothing to pay up front!
Right to Buy Step 3
Sit back and relax whilst we purchase your council owned home on your behalf, at a discount below council valuation of up to £38,000 dependent upon region.
Ask us about home improvements! Often, the right to buy discount provides sufficient equity to pay for that new bathroom or kitchen you've been dreaming of.
And don't worry if you've got rent arrears or CCJ's, our expert knowledge of the mortgage industry means we can usually source a lender sympathetic to your circumstances.
Right to Buy Mortgage - Do You Qualify?
Many council tenants don't realise they have the right to buy their home, or that they can expect a discount roughly proportional to the number of years they have been paying rent:
- Secure tenant of a UK local authority for more than 2 years, or for tenants registered on or after 18 January 2005, must be continuous tenants for 5 years
- Assured tenant of a registered UK landlord or housing association and formally a secure tenant at the same address prior to change of ownership (Preserved Right to Buy)
- Accommodation not provided in connection with your employment, age or in some cases, disability
To learn more about your rights, visit the Right to Buy Section within the website of the Department for Communities and Local Government.
